Visit to First Year Law Students Camps
Lawyers and law students working in the law offices „Raidla Lejins & Norcous” have visited first year law students’ camps organized by students’ representative bodies of Vilnius University and Mykolas Romeris University where the project Norcous Academia was presented to the future law students. The students also were acquainted to the profession of Attorney-at-law and students working experience as well as practice opportunities in the law offices.
Norcous Academia is a long-standing legal education project with its aim to help students to improve their skills, deepen their legal knowledge and encourage them to excel. One of the main project activities is constantly updated Norcous Academia website where law students and young lawyers may find relevant information for their career and studies. RoschierRaidla firms together with the leading global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer have prepared an overview analyzing various employment law issues. The overview looks upon strategies for managing employment costs in 17 different countries and concentrates mainly on two fields - mass redundancies and alternatives to redundancy.

Roundtable Discussion on Taxation of Office Cars
On 2 July 2009, Raidla Lejins & Norcous together with tax advisers UAB MERITS hosted a roundtable discussion Office Cars and Taxes on Income in Kind. The discussion focused on the procedures for taxation of income in kind in effect as of 1 July 2009 and related aspects. A presentation was also delivered by an officer of the State Tax Authority.

Russia/Eurasia Executive Guide
Raidla Lejins & Norcous contributed a new Belarusian chapter to the Russia/Eurasia Executive Guide, published by World Trade Executive Inc. The publication provides coverage of a broad range of legal issues and topics, which are relevant for doing business and investing in Russia/CIS and Eurasia as well. Our firm’s managing partner Dr. Irmantas Norkus and associate Olga Mažitova delivered an overview of pricing regulations in Belarus - basics and recent amendments.

Cartel Fines Repealed
Raidla Lejins & Norcous has successfully represented the interests of the leading Lithuanian dairies AB Rokiškio Sūris and UAB Marijampolės Pieno Konservai in respect of the alleged cartel arrangements and imposed fines exceeding LTL 1 million. The Supreme Administrative Court has reversed the decision of the Lithuanian Competition Council and repealed the fines imposed on the companies. The case was led by our partners Irmantas Norkus and Elijus Burgis.
