Raidla Lejins & Norcous gained the Lead on M&A Deals in the Baltics

Raidla Lejins & Norcous Law Offices – Last Year’s Leader in the Baltics

According to data announced at the end of March 2010 by financial markets monitoring agency ISI DealWatch, Raidla Lejins & Norcous gained the lead on M&A deals among the law firms in the Baltics in 2009. ISI Deal Watch analysis shows that in 2009 Raidla Lejins & Norcous advised in deals worth over LTL 2 billion (USD 784 million) in total.

“We are delighted that even in a shallow transactions market our firm managed to persist as an active market player. The lawyers’ ability to offer adequate decisions led to an ever-growing number of clients trusting us counsel in buying, selling or merging businesses. This tendency is living on in 2010, too”, says Dr. Irmantas Norkus, Managing Partner of Raidla Lejins & Norcous.

In 2009, Raidla Lejins & Norcous acted as a counsel in 13 transactions in the Baltics, with eight transactions being advised by Raidla Lejins & Norcous Vilnius office. According to this index (number of transactions advised) Raidla Lejins & Norcous is leading among Lithuanian law firms.

Among recent largest transactions Raidla Lejins & Norcous advised, of particular scope and significance is legal advice to AB Linas Agro Group in LTL 100 million worth initial public offering of shares, which was the first offering in the Baltics after a two-year break caused by economic crisis. The value of the public offering exceeded the value of earlier offerings placed in Lithuania before economic breakdown, and the transaction has clearly demonstrated the return of investors to the Baltic capital market.

Raidla Lejins & Norcous also advises a leading North European oil company Neste Oil in acquiring 100 percent of shares in UAB Alexela Oil, an operator of Alexela fuel stations network in Lithuania.

In 2009, the law firm acted as a counsel to one of the largest publishing houses in Lithuania UAB Alma Littera in acquiring 100 percent of shares in UAB Baltų Lankų Knygynas; advised UAB Armila belonging to one of the largest German pharmaceutical wholesalers in acquiring 100% of shares in a drugstore network UAB Ramunėlės Vaistinė; assisted a innovatory wind energy company UAB Vėjo Gūsis in acquiring an additional wind energy development project UAB Vėjo Vatas, and other Lithuanian and foreign companies operating in other industries.
