On 31 March 2010, the independent Legal500 Directory, which is recognised in over 100 countries, announced the ratings of Lithuanian law firms, with Law Offices Raidla Lejins & Norcous top ranked in banking and finance and M&A advisory. The Law Offices is also recommended as one of the best in dispute resolution, EU and competition, and intellectual property law.

According to the Directory, Raidla Lejins & Norcous’ lawyers contributed to the success of the country’s largest corporate loan restructuring and received positive evaluations from clients for hard work. Among new clients of Raidla Lejins & Norcous in the financial sector are the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the leading banks of the country Swedsbank and SEB bank.

In 2009, Raidla Lejins & Norcous made a significant contribution in M&A by representing a publishing company UAB Alma Littera in acquiring 100% of shares in UAB Baltų Lankų bookstore, andone of the largest German pharmaceutical wholesalers UAB Armila in acquiring 100% of shares in a pharmacy chain UAB Ramuneles Vaistine.

Last month’s analysis by ISI Deal Watch, a financial markets monitoring agency, confirmed Raidla Lejins & Norcous’ expertise in this area. According to ISI Deal Watch, Raidla Lejins & Norcous law firms operating in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are leaders in the Baltics in terms of total advised deal value. RLN is second ranked in Lithuania, with advised deals totaling over LTL 90 m ($35m).

Legal counsel in the initial public offering (IPO) of AB Linas Agro Group (LTL 100m) stands out as one of the most notable RLN’s legal advisory services recently. This is the first IPO in the Baltic States after a 2-year hiatus induced by economic crisis. RLN is currently advising Neste Oil, a well established Northern European oil drilling company, on 100% acquisition in UAB Alexela Oil, an operator of a gas station network in Lithuania.
