For the second consecutive year, the Alumni Community of Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) has initiated an educational project Mentoring for Junior Lawyers, which is promoted by Minister of Justice R. Šimašius, one of the mentors in the previous year. The key supporter of the project is Raidla Lejins & Norcous Vilnius office whose lawyers have also become mentors for students of law.
This year, even 20 students of MRU Faculty of Law will take part in the project that will continue until June. During this half-year, the students will have the opportunity to learn from professionals by participating in their everyday activities and carrying out different assignments together with them.
Those wishing to participate in the project were required to present an essay on a subject of law and were interviewed by the selection panel. The students having moved through such phases will receive mentoring from the country’s notable lawyers: Prof. Dr. V. Valančius, Judge of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania, A. Driukas, President of the Civil Chamber of the Court of Appeal of Lithuania, Ž. Pacevičius, Director of the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania, V.S. Sviderskis, a criminal trial attorney, E. Šatas, Head of the Legal Division of the Competition Council of the Republic of Lithuania, A. Burneikienė, Equal Opportunities Ombudsman, E. Baltutytė, Representative of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania at the European Court of Human Rights, and others.
Partner of Raidla Lejins & Norcous Vilnius office Žilvinas Kvietkus and senior associate Akvilė Bosaitė will also share their personal and professional experience. They will co-operate with second year students of MRU Faculty of Law Mindaugas Buckiūnas and Julija Timoščenko.
